Live Editing Sessions - Capture One - 9th June 2020

In today's session we explored Phase One's "Dual Exposure +" functionality - leading to cleaner shadows with more detail and texture from just one raw file.

In your images, we re-edited a Milky Way shot to produce natural tones and contrasts while keeping the night sky vibrant, and fixed a slightly overexposed image of Paris with some highlight recovery and keystone correction.

Following this, we covered the black and white tool - colour editor - and a cool way of adding more texture into flat clouds with a localised s-curve that only affects the overcast sky. We also put the "Auto" function to the test, seeing how it can quickly deliver a baseline from where to tweak (and how it can also do a horrible job if it gets things a little wrong!)
