If we could teach everybody one skill, what would that be? Eren Bali, CEO & Co-founder of Udemy, discusses how "learning to learn by yourself" is that skill in the age of this open, accessible, connected world of the internet.

Eren Bali is the CEO and co-founder of Udemy, a startup that aims to democratize educations by allowing anybody to teach and learn online. Udemy, started in late 2010, reached over 5000 courses and a total of 500,000 students by late 2012. This led the company to raise a total of $16 from investors in Silicon Valley and New York. Prior to Udemy, Eren worked at SpeedDate as a founding engineer and Director of Engineering while the company grew form 0 to 15 million users in 3 years and raised more than $14M. Eren graduated from METU (Turkey) with a degree in Computer Science and a double major degree in Mathematics. He won several awards in Mathematics, Physics and CS including a 2nd position in International Mathematical Olympiads.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
