The Active Volcano in Idaho; Hell's Half Acre
Within Idaho is a volcano that around 5,000 years ago covered an area of 168 square miles in molten rock adjacent to the city of Idaho Falls. Known as Hell's Half Acre, this volcano is by no means extinct, and the rift zone it is a part of may eventually erupt again. Hell's Half Acre is a low prominence shield volcano much like the Wapi Lava Field and vast lava field which is easily visible from satellite.
Note: The video thumbnail of this volcano does not show the current state of the volcano. Rather, it display’s what it’s last eruption likely looked like.
