LOVING MY NONNA LIFE ♥️Almond Croissant/Almond Cream Filled Croissant/Almond Flaky Danish
Light and airy, crispy, golden exterior, sweet filling, irresistible flavor, perfect for breakfast or brunch, easy to make, impressive to serve, delicious and satisfying.
Anyone can made these almond croissants.
Ingredients:
Makes : 4 large/6 small
**Best results if you use 1 or 2 day old croissants
Syrup:
1/4 c water
1/4 c sugar
Bring the water and sugar to a boil and set aside to cool—ADD 1 teaspoon rum or vanilla extract if desired once syrup has cooled.
Almond Cream:
1/2 cup room temperature non salted butter
1 egg
1/2 c powdered/icing sugar
2 Tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 1/3 c almond flour/finely ground almonds
—In a bowl, mix butter until creamy. Add egg and mix. Add the rest of the ingredients and continue to mix until smooth.
-Slice croissants in half.
-Brush bottom half with syrup mix
-Spread 2 Tablespoons of almond cream onto bottoms of croissants
-Spread 1 Tablespoon on top and sprinkle sliced almonds over-top
Place on cookie sheet and bake 350F for 20 minutes
Allow to cool before diving in 😋
