Hiking alone the southern side of Matterhorn - Day 3 + Day 4
If you haven't watched the previous days:

Day 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-XPoIe4arE
----------
Hike (Day 3)
Woke up to a sublime view of the Italian Alps, facing south. As soon as I opened the door the mountain goats appeared, and I never thought they would come so close (sometimes less than 3m). I packed my things and went on my way.
After about two hours of hiking and 1000m lower, I walked around a bend and saw Matterhorn for the first time. That was a very special moment, and I ate the delicious energy bar I was carrying for that magical moment. I stopped in Breuil-Cervinia to rest (but did not buy anything, as I was determined to walk the whole route self-sustained).
From Breuil-Cervinia to the pass took around 4h I would say, with an altitude gain of 1700m (from 1500 to 3180). The last couple hundred meters were strange, with a perfect weather but a freezing wind that froze your fingers... except when wind stops for a minute and you start sweating again.
Went over the pass and it was all descent, the first 300m being a ski slope and really uncomfortable walk, and the other 200m or so a normal hiking path that led to the beautiful camping spot I found.
--------
Hike (Day 4)
The Matterhorn Tour ends in Zermatt, but I wanted to go on further. I hiked to Stellisee, a relatively big detour (down from 2700m to 1700m in Furi, then up again to 2700m), a hike in a beautiful valley that was really full of people... I ate at the Stellisee lake under the weird look of tourists who had come up using the cable car. They couldn't understand why would someone carry a backpack and cook up there...
So I didn't stay long and continued my hike to Randa and the Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge, which was the end of the hike.
