A Guide To: The Great Wold Valley, Yorkshire Wolds, East Yorkshire

Learn all you need to know about this area of the Yorkshire Wolds as it starts at the bottom of the Wolds escapment at North Gimston and then climbs 600ft to the plateau. It drops down to Duggelby, with its pre-historic barrow, and on to Kirkby Grindaltythe and the huge glass mosaic in the church. The area is part of the Sledmere estate (three miles away) and the churches were restored by Tatton Sykes I and II (father and son between 1856-1913).
At Weaverthorpe we see the monument to a meteorite that just missed a farm labourer. We follow the Gypsy Race, the only watercourse on the Wolds. We see it again at Burton Fleming, from where we climb out of the valley to end at the pretty market town of Hunmanby.
You see the entire route - in 4k - from a camera mounted on the car and with dozens of photographs of the things to see. The voice-over gives an in-depth commentary of the area. Maps show just exactly where you are. Watch it as you visit or sit back and watch as though you are there!
