Optus' CEO considers future ahead of Senate Inquiry

Optus' CEO is considering quitting after experiencing a bruising 12 months at the telecommunications company.

Kelly Bayer Rosmarin will be put under the microscope when she fronts a Senate Inquiry on Friday.

Ms Rosmarin will face questions into last week's nationwide outage which halted services for network, internet and landline.

The blackout, which left around 10 million customers off the grid for more than 14 hours, came nearly one year after the phone carrier was subjected to a cyber-attack.

Optus says a 'routine software update' was behind last week's outage but its Singapore-based owners have refused to accept responsibility for the incident.
