063 Fix Archicad GDL Story Display ac_toplevel
Why do GDL objects in Archicad show on the wrong stories, or disappear completely?
It usually comes down to ac_bottomlevel and ac_toplevel, and how Archicad interprets your object’s vertical range.
Using a simple test object, I demonstrate how incorrect values cause objects to disappear or appear on the wrong levels, and how to fix it by properly defining the vertical range in your parameter script.
I also walk through:
The relationship between ac_toplevel and ZZYZX
Why Archicad’s behaviour can seem inconsistent
How bounding boxes are calculated (and why they don’t always match expectations)
Practical examples of controlling story display in real objects
Once you understand this, you can control exactly where your objects appear - instead of fighting Archicad’s defaults.
Completed in Archicad 29.
