A DAY IN MY LIFE AT TULANE UNIVERSITY | new orleans, usa

Hey everyone! Happy New Years and welcome back to my channel!

If it wasn’t already clear from the title, this video is going to be a little different from the ones I’ve made in the past. Basically, I want to take you along for a day in my life as a college student at Tulane University, so you can learn a little more about me and also because I live in New Orleans, which is one of the coolest cities in America.

Tulane is a private university that was founded 1834. At Tulane, we have around 14,000 students, most of whom are not from the South, including myself since I’m originally from Chicago.

Now I absolutely love living here, but there are definitely a few things that took some getting used to when I first moved to New Orleans:
1. Hurricanes
2. Cockroaches. Everywhere.
3. The worst roads in the entire country.
4. The language.

Here’s some more info about some of the places I visit in the video:
Tulane University: The only private research university in Louisiana. I’m a junior at Tulane, where I study Finance, Political Economy, and Italian.

Maple Street: A quaint street within walking distance from Tulane with lots of small businesses and restaurants.

Carrollton Cemetery: One of New Orleans’ many historic above-ground cemeteries, located in the Carrollton neighborhood of Uptown New Orleans.

Audubon Park:
An Uptown park on the banks of the Mississippi River. Audubon is a popular hangout spot among Tulane students, especially the part closest to the river that’s nicknamed “The Fly.”

City Park:
A 1,300-acre park located south of Lake Pontchartrain. City Park is one of the most visited urban parks in the United States and is 50% larger than Central Park in New York City.

The French Quarter (Vieux Carré):
The oldest (and one of the highest) neighborhoods in New Orleans. Most of the buildings were constructed in the late 18th century, when the Spanish ruled New Orleans. The French Quarter is also the neighborhood in New Orleans that is most visited by tourists, especially Bourbon Street and Jackson Square.
