Boat Run Home Before Storm Hits

Our last day for traveling on our 2015 boating adventure to Georgian Bay and heading back to our home port. After spending the prior two days/nights at Lock #43 (Swift Rapids) on the Trent Severn Waterway, we were trying to make the seven hour run before forecast thunderstorms hit.

We could have shaved an hour off of that travel time, but were held up when we ran over a piece of carpet that flew off a boat in front of us while heading back. Turns out that that boat was our next door neighbors at our marina - that's why I am giving the young gentleman a hard time at the end of this video (the one tying up our forward line). Ultimately, as you'll see in this presentation, we got back just in time, after a rough crossing of Lake Simcoe. Fortunately, the wind died down when we got back to our marina and we were able to dock, tie up, hook up our shore power right before a wicked thunderstorm rolled through.
