Novi Sad is Serbia's 2nd city -- but certainly doesn't take a back seat to the capitol when it comes to fun. Located only 100 km northwest of Belgrade, Novi Sad is a quick drive and makes a perfect day (or two) trip. The city is a college town and has a decidedly young vibe, with countless bars and sidewalk cafes. Every summer, the 17th century Petrovaradin Fortress plays host to one of Europe's most popular music events... The EXIT Festival. Novi Sad is busy, but not crowded, and the prices will make you smile rather than cringe! Well worth visiting!
