The Age of Fragmentation | Mark Esposito | TEDxAntwerp

Rising from the ashes of a century where integration and globalization have become absolute game setters, the 21st century has demonstrated the rifts that initiated in 2016 and continue to threaten the order of the world that for so long prospered. The concurrent growth of the most powerful technology ever experienced by human kind, on the inset of the fourth industrial revolution, has turned the current century into a major paradox, perched on old values and new opportunities, often colliding with each other. This monumental clash of titans can be solved by thinking and acting in light of a new Renaissance, where human centered societies, empowered by technology, can collectively solve some of humanity’s most pressing challenges. Mark Esposito is a Professor of Business, Government, Society, Economic Strategy, and Competitiveness for Harvard University's Division of Continuing Education, where he also serves as Institute Council Co-Leader, at the Microeconomics of Competitiveness program (MOC) at the Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness, at Harvard Business School.

Mark has been appointed as a global expert for the Fourth Industrial Revolution at the World Economic Forum, where he contributed to five cross disciplinary reports and worked with the Forum on Accelerating the Circular Economy as well as in the Future of Production. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
