LEARNING TO LOVE METROID: Samus Returns Analysis - Jakstalgia

Ever since the series' inception on the NES in 1986, all the way up to the announcement of the newest game Metroid Prime 4 on the Nintendo Switch I have been extremely interested in the Metroid series. However, no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't find the appeal in this iconic Nintendo franchise. That is, until Metroid Samus Returns was released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2017. I was completely obsessed with this game from start to finish, however I couldn't help but wonder: What made this game different from something like Metroid Prime or even Super Metroid? Well, why don't we take a look and see if we can find out!
