TDA7492 amp module output filter capacitor myth busting

The SKU145225 TDA7492 module off of Banggood has a really bad output filter design. It can certainly be improved, but will this particular viewer-suggested modification do any good?

The rundown is that the amplifier ships with some 220 nF caps in the output filter. They alone don't suppress the switching noise well enough. I figured out that replacing them with 100 nF caps makes it a little better (although not good). A viewer commented that replacing them with 470 nF is an even better improvement. I was highly skeptical of this claim, since the stock 220 nF caps were already too big to work correctly.

By connecting the amplifier up to my Xonar DX sound card through a most dodgy set-up, I was able to put his claim to the test, and figure out just why he thinks it sounds better - because it does make a difference.
