In Inner Mongolia, a young female horse trainer tackles a male-dominated tradition

In Wild Wind, the fourth short film from NOWNESS China original series Young Master, we meet Angchinhuu, who – described as a “girl like wind” – grew up in a traditional herding family living in the Hulunbuir grasslands. For generations, family life revolved around these lands, as they greeted the sunrise and bid farewell to the sunset. Translated from the Mongolian for “hunter”, the name Angchinhuu was granted to her by her grandmother in the hopes she would grow brave and strong as a hunter.
