Young Rainbow Lorikeets before they were poached (1)

This new flock of Rainbow Lorikeets at Dr Romesh's Bird Sanctuary was poached shortly after this footage was recorded (on 26 February 2021). The numbers of birds had been increasing rapidly, and there were 3 babies. One of them had a distinctive dark beak and I named her 'Hanna'. She was the least afraid of me.

Yesterday (2.3.2021) there were only 6 lorikeets (there had been 40) including Hanna - but her tail had been pulled out and she was visibly traumatised.

I have had my flock stolen many times over the past 10 years. At one stage there were more than 100 birds - I was locked up as a mental patient at the Princess Alexandra (PA) Hospital while they stole my birds, which had become so tame they took food from my hand.
