Paul Whiteman had been recording for Victor for about 8 months when his then small band waxed this Con Conrad tune. This seemed to be the style the band was deploying between late 1920 and 1921. The lush Whiteman sound was a few months away into the future. Whiteman's original musicians (many could not read music) had left the band at this time so he added versatile musicians like Ross Gorman to the orchestra. Herein we are listening to a great band in its formative stages.
