Learn Italian Elementary (A2)- Common mistakes: Tra o In?
Imparate insieme a noi come usare le preposizioni di tempo “tra”/ “fra” e “in”.
“Tra” (o “fra”) si usa per parlare di futuro. Indica il periodo di tempo tra il momento presente e un’azione futura.
Esempi: “Tornerò in Italia tra un anno”, “Ti richiamo tra due minuti”.
“In” indica il tempo necessario per fare qualcosa.
Esempi: “Con il nuovo treno si arriva a Roma in tre ore”, “Devo completare il test in trenta minuti”.
Non dimenticate che in italiano “tra” e “fra” hanno lo stesso significato!

“Tra” (or “fra”) is used to talk about the future. It refers to the period of time between the present and a future action.
Ex.: “Tornerò in Italia tra un anno” = “I’ll go back to Italy in one year”, “Ti richiamo tra due minuti” = “I’ll call you back in two minutes”.
“In” refers to the time needed to finish something.
Ex.: “Con il nuovo treno si arriva a Roma in tre ore” = “With the new train you can get to Rome in three hours” (you need three hours to get there), “Devo completare il test in trenta minuti” = “I have to complete the test in thirty minutes” (I have thirty minutes to complete the test).
