Corrosion Prevention - Lanotec - What To Use Where - Roothy

For over 30 years I have been using Lanotec to prevent corrosion from destroying my trucks and as a general lubricant for pretty much everything. You only have to take a look at my old truck Milo in the National Motor Museum to see the benefits of Lanotec and my new truck Milo2 gets the same treatment.
Unless you have swallowed the electronic 'snake oil' approach to preventing corrosion then you probably understand the benefits of Lanotec, but I get asked all the time what to use where. For my trucks I use Steel Seal on the chassis and any fixed underbody parts like the diff housing and steering arms, then for anything that is a moving part like the leaf springs and tie rods I use the Heavy Duty Lanotec. The difference is that the Steel Seal dries less tacky than the heavy Duty but is still able to seep into all the nooks and crannies where corrosion can hide, it doesn't dry completely so remains flexible and doesn't flake off.
Oh, and do yourself a favour and grab one of the specially designed Lanotec pressure spray bottles to apply the liquid gold, they are capable of handling the thicker liquid without becoming blocked. BUT, that doesnlt mean that you just leave the Lanotec in the spray pack once your done, use a degreaser - ideally CITRAFORCE from Lanotec to flush it through.
Typically I use about one and a half to two litres of Steel Seal at the start of each beach driving season to do the underbody. The most economical way to but any Lanotec product is in the bulk 20L drums that are available direct through the Roothy shop (https://roothy.com.au/products/lanotec-products/) but if you are just looking to try it out you can grab a750ml spray pack.
So come on, get real about corrosion prevention on your 4WD, caravan, trailer, bike or boat, Lanotec is tried, tested and used widely in some of the most corrosive environments on earth like oil rigs and pipelines, you don't see them relying on flashing lights and wires to protect their multi million dollar equipment from the elements, so why would you!
