Featured Artisan: BT Livermore

Everything I make starts in my sketchbook first. The end result may be screenprinted, letterpressed, or handpainted, but a solid idea sketched out is the backbone on which to build any piece for me. I work out of (and manage) a studio, Magnetic North, which contains a shared print studio, sign painting setup, and wood shop. A computer can be a wonderful tool, but in the end, every piece I sell has been printed, or painted, or sewn, or shaped by my hand.

I've always been a jack of all trades sort of maker. I'm interested in learning any new process I haven't tried yet because I'll never know when at least a rudimentary skill may come in handy on a project. On any given day, I may be painting a sign, making a print, designing a logo, or working in my wood shop; just to name a few. My greatest passion in life is simply to make things and enjoy doing so.
