How do I drill a hole? Primitive Pump Drills have been used all throughout history as a means of drilling holes in bone, stone, wood and pretty much anything that needed a hole in it. Oh yeah...you can also make a fire with it! The Primitive Pump Drill in the video is one of many types that utilizes a sliding antler clamp.

Some footage is missing from the video...due to one person, me not hitting record at one point. However putting the las holes in the pump lever and securing the cordage to the top is easily understood.
