My backcoutry BOMA Blade is something of my own creation. Essentially I cut five inches off, dulled the tip, drilled some holes, changed the handle and put a better edge on it. Essentially, I knew what I wanted and decided to make it out of a Bolo machete. Its not hard to modify a machete with a few simple tools and ultimately create what you need.
