Easy Bulgogi Recipe | Korean BBQ Beef at Home

Sometimes the best dinners are the ones that just sit and marinate while you go about your day. This homemade bulgogi is packed with flavor and incredibly easy to make. Thinly sliced ribeye soaks up a sweet, savory marinade, then cooks quickly in a hot pan until perfectly caramelized.

You can usually find thin sliced ribeye roll at Asian grocery stores, and Costco carries it frozen too, which makes this recipe really convenient. Once it hits the pan, the smell alone will make you hungry.

This is one of those meals that feels scary to make but is actually super simple to pull together at home.

Easy Homemade Bulgogi

Ingredients

2–3 lbs thin sliced ribeye roll
1 large onion
¼ Asian pear
4 cloves garlic
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp mirin
1 tbsp gochujang
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp sesame oil
Avocado oil for cooking

Instructions
1. Thinly slice most of the onion to cook with the meat later and reserve about ¼ of the onion for the marinade.
2. Add the marinade ingredients to a blender:
¼ onion, Asian pear, garlic, soy sauce, mirin, gochujang, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Blend until smooth.
3. Place the thinly sliced beef in a large bowl and pour the marinade over it. Add the sliced onions and mix well so everything is coated.
4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours. The longer it marinates, the deeper the flavor.
5. Heat a large pan over high heat and add a little avocado oil. Add the beef in a thin layer.
6. Let the meat cook without moving it too much so it caramelizes.
7. Flip and cook until browned and slightly crispy on the edges.

You can also cook this on a flat top grill for amazing results.

Serve with rice, lettuce wraps, kimchi, or fresh veggies.
