Launch of milestone report into social prescribing approaches across NHS North Cumbria.

Yesterday we attended a special launch event in Carlisle with Cumbria CVS and partner organisations to mark the release of a milestone report into social prescribing approaches across NHS North Cumbria.

In this video, Cumbria CVS Health Partnerships Support Officer Sarah Penn explains why the report is so significant and why it’s important that the work happening across North Cumbria is receiving national recognition.

There are some really important points here around how social prescribing, community organisations, and connector roles are helping to support people’s health and wellbeing, while also helping to support primary care and general practice with some of the increasing pressures they continue to face.
The report, published by Cumbria CVS on behalf of the North Cumbria Social Prescribing Steering Group, celebrates the impact of community-based support and health and wellbeing workers across the area.

The National Academy for Social Prescribing praised North Cumbria’s “highly skilled” workforce and highlighted the report as something that could help inform and support health and care systems across the country.
