Set in November 1990 against the backdrop of Margaret Thatcher’s resignation, this 2013 British film—written, produced, and directed by Justin Edgar—is a surreal and anarchic anti-coming-of-age story following three underachieving outsiders who unexpectedly find themselves experiencing the best night of their lives. Blending chaotic humor with a distorted sense of reality, the film captures a moment of social and political transition while focusing on the trio’s increasingly bizarre journey through the night. Starring Jamie Blackley, Michael Smiley, Shaun Teale, Amber Anderson, Rosamund Hanson, and Adam Gillen, it premiered in the official competition for the Michael Powell Award at the 2013 Edinburgh International Film Festival.
