Processing hog manure lagoon sludge with Trident Wave Separator

The video shows the Trident Wave Separator 411 piloted on a hog farm. The objective was to demonstrate efficient separation and dewatering of lagoon sludge. The lagoon sludge is pumped from the dredging barge to a bar screen to remove larger objects. In the next step a polymer is added to initiate the fine solid separation and the flocculated material is then sent to the Wave Separator. The influent flow rate during piloting was about 12 gpm. This particular Wave Separator was equipped with the optional pressure plate for increased dewatering performance. The Wave separator produced cake consistently in the 18-20% solids range, even though the input solids fluctuated as the dredge moved across the lagoon.
