Powering the People of Mississippi!

Welcome to the second day of the BuildWitt Roadshow, where we visited North American Coal's Red Hills Mine outside Starkville, Mississippi.

I LOVE visiting this mine—it's one of my favorites of all time. The iron is big, the work vital, and the reclamation absolutely beautiful.

The hardworking crews of North American Coal mine the valuable energy with a dragline, dozers, shovels, and trucks. After they haul the coal to the nearby power plant, reclamation begins.

In only a few years post-mining, they replant the reclaimed earth with native grasses and trees.
Power impacting hundreds of thousands of people and a beautiful landscape left behind... It doesn't get much better!
