Anna May Wong (1905-1961), the first Asian American female movie star, had a long and varied career spanning silent and sound film, stage, radio, and television, while resisting racism and typecasting in Hollywood, and the practice of having white actors in yellow face play the roles of Asian characters. UNLADYLIKE2020 brings her story of glamour and courage back to life through rare archival imagery, captivating original artwork and animation, and interviews with Shirley Jennifer Lim, author of Anna May Wong: Performing the Modern, and actor and producer Jenna Ushkowitz, who portrayed Tina Cohen-Chang in “Glee.”
