... to be forgiven - A Photographic Essay by Christopher John Ball
Another example of a photographic essay that had originally taken the form of a hand made book. Given that I am also a writer, and because I see in photography a strong link to literature, I often create photographs that are intended to work in series, rather than individual images, so as to create a visual narrative.
Making use of an old, broken, wooden chair, and shot in the back room of an empty flat/apartment in London, the poses had been story boarded prior to the shoot and the photographs were made using 120 Ilford HP5 film via a Rolleiflex TLR.
As with the previous photographic essays I shall be referring to this series in a later video when I discuss where ideas come from and how do we defeat a creative block. So be sure to subscribe to my channel.

"Mid-life male photographer meets young, nubile female student-cum-artistic muse - so far it's old hat. But photographer turned playwright Christopher John Ball and co-writer Dean Sipling, whose background is film and television, bring the pairing into a thoroughly contemporary world of intercepted emails, sinister insinuation and sharp retorts."
