CB dummy Load project - Servicing CB radio on a shoestring budget - Pt1
Richard Shireby discusses & demonstrates how to make a 50 ohm, 5W dummy load to enable transmitter tests & adjustments to be made on CB radios.
Just requires two 100 ohm 5Watt resistors, a PL259 plug & a bit of sleeving. Make sure you're not using wirewound resistors. Text books tell you to only use carbon resistors, but these are metal oxide & I can't see a snag. Technology moves forward & components get better!
