Gain Acceleration WITHOUT Adding ANY Horsepower

It's important to match the ratio of the gears in your differential with the powerband of the engine in order to have an optimum performing car or truck. My Stepside had 3.73 gears in it from the factory which is a good overall gear ratio, but after installing the cam and headers, the engine makes more power at peak RPM and has a higher rev ceiling, so we're changing the ratio of gears in the axle to take advantage of high RPM power and a low torque engine. I am installing @Nitro Gear 4.30 gears in the 8.6 10-bolt and I'll show you all the important steps. Setting the backlash, pinion depth, pinion bearing preload, and obtaining the proper gear pattern. When the gears are fully broken in, we'll get an improvement in acceleration which should be substantial!
