Andrew Pelling’s Fruit Implants

Inspired by the horror musical Little Shop of Horrors, University of Ottawa biophysicist and biohacker Andrew Pelling and his tireless team turn apple slices into ears and asparagus into spinal cord implants. They hope to replace the current standard of high-cost animal products or polymers with implants made from fruits and vegetables.
