Working for FREE to Build Your Photography Portfolio??

For beginners, sometimes working for free is the only way to build your photography portfolio. With that said, there is a RIGHT way to go about offering free photoshoots, so you DON'T waste time, energy, or effort.

In this video, I discuss the importance of determining the type of photography style you want to specialize in, as well as the target market you want to serve when building your business and portfolio. Once you have this business and photography identity, you're able to strategically offer and/or look for free photoshoot opportunities that serve these goals. To help illustrate these points, I share some key moments from a recent coaching call I had with another photographer.
