Finding Permanence Beyond Temporary Tattoos | See Min Ng | TEDxSingapore Youth
See Min was among the first who brought Jagua body art to Singapore. What began as
a simple, “forbidden” tattoo led her to discover Jagua as a new form of creative
expression, challenging societal stigmas around body art while sparking a new artistic
movement in Singapore. See Min’s journey celebrates curiosity and courage, and
encourages us to search for meaning, even in the stories that will eventually fade. Nine years ago, See Min Ng set out to get a tattoo she wasn’t “allowed” to have — and in the process discovered jagua, a natural, temporary body art form. That small act of rebellion became the seed for a whole new art scene in Singapore. Today, she’s a pioneer in the craft, turning her clients’ stories into intricate designs that fade from the skin but stay in memory. More recently, she’s begun telling her own stories through short films about creativity, courage, and living vividly. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
