BMW 535i (F10/F11) N55 Oil Change DIY Maintenance Reset

Join me while I change the oil on my 2014 BMW 535i (F10). This video applies to all 2011 to 2017 BMW 535i’s. It may also apply to other BMW’s as well that have the BMW N55 Engine. I will also reset the maintenance reminder when I am complete.

The service is moderately difficult if it is the first time working on this vehicle. Estimate 2 hour working slow or it is your first time performing this type of work. If you have done similar work before, estimate 30-45 minutes.

Subject Vehicle: 2014 BMW 535i

Parts Used:
Oil: BMW Twin Power Turbo 5w30 Longlife 01
Oil Filter: MANN Filter HU816x (Complete Kit with O Rings and Crush Washer)

Tools Needed:
Drive On Ramps (not needed if you have a long frame floor jack)
Floor Jack (Racing style OK if you use drive on ramps; or long frame is required) - I use Discount Ramps Low Profile Ramps
Jack Stands with BMW Jack Pad Adapter or Prothane Jack Pads
Wheel Chocks
Worklight
17 MM Socket and Ratchet Handle
8 MM Socket and Ratchet Handle
Torque Wrench
BMW Oil Filter Removal Tool (86.4 mm/16 Flute)
Pick Tool or Pocket Screwdriver
Shop Towels
Degreaser
Oil Drain Pan
Oil Funnel
Nitrile Gloves
