Debarking A Cedar Log For Silky Smooth Natural Finish

In This Video I Demonstrate What I Feel Is The Easiest Method For Debarking/Stripping Cedar Logs Using Only A Putty Knife.

Tip #1- Either wet the bark before stripping with a hose and let it sit for a few hours to soak in or use this method after it has rained and the bark is wet. This makes the bark come off much easier.

Tip #2- Do not use too flexible of a putty knife, I have found that if too flexible or too thick it makes it difficult to slide in between the bark/cambium and the actual wood itself.
