Mr Pastorius -- the Awesome Miles Davis
The venue was Chelsea Studios, NYC on October 18, 1989 for David Sandborn's television show NIGHT MUSIC. The piece MR. PASTORIUS was written by Marcus Miller, and performed here live about two years before Miles Davis passed. It is a tender tune and captures Miles Davis in a tender mood as you'll see at the end of the clip. Mr. Pastorius was of course written in honor of Jaco Pastorius who had died two years previously in 1987
