Tail of the Dragon & Hiking Shuckstack Fire Tower | Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Welcome to Great Smoky Mountains! If you watched my last video, you saw this whole trip nearly ended early... I'm glad it didn't.

On this first day around the park, I explored Tail of the Dragon, one of the most famous scenic drives in Tennessee/North Carolina (and supposedly the USA). It mainly draws sports car/motorcycle enthusiasts, but I took my trusty camper van through the 11-mile, 318-turn road to get to Fontana Dam in the southwest corner of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

At the dam, I hiked along the Appalachian Trail to the abandoned Shuckstack Fire Tower for a 360º introduction to the Smokies!

A great Day 1 exploring what Great Smoky Mountains National Park's North Carolina side has to offer! More soon 👍
