Professor Marandi: Iran delaying its response was itself a signal to Washington

In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Professor Mohammad Marandi said he believes Iran intentionally delayed its response to the United States after Washington said that Tehran should respond quickly.

He explained that when the US attempts to dictate timelines to Iran, Tehran will respond by showing that no one can tell the country what to do.

Professor Marandi added that Iran’s delayed response was itself a message to Washington, "to tell Washington that we do not abide by your deadlines. We do not abide by your requirements. We work in accordance with our deadlines and our own requirements."
