IT Helpdesk : Active Directory User Management, Departments & Delegation - Part 3
This video builds on the previous lab by introducing organizational structure, manual onboarding, and role-based access control key skills required for any IT Support or Helpdesk role.
You’ll learn how to create departments, onboard users manually, assign permissions, and delegate control just like in a real company environment.

- IT department hierarchy (Helpdesk → SysAdmin → CTO)
- Creating Organizational Units (HR, IT, Finance, Management)
- Manual user onboarding in Active Directory
- Assigning user attributes (email, department, role, phone)
- Creating and managing security groups
- Delegating control to Helpdesk users (limited admin rights)
- Password policies and first-time login setup
- Testing user login on a domain joined Windows 10 client
Lab Scenario
We simulate a company environment (consult.com) where:
- Employees are grouped into departments
- Users are onboarded manually
- Helpdesk accounts are given limited administrative privileges
- Security groups are created for access control
- A client machine logs into the domain using real user credentials
