Israel can only defeat Hamas ideology by 'presenting alternative ideology that is more attractive'

Israel is beefing up the pressure on Palestinian militant group Hamas, its military operations are underway and Gaza will be very different, Mark Regev, an adviser to Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said on Friday. "We are beefing up the pressure on Hamas. We're increasing the pressure that they're under. Our military operations are underway," he told Fox News. "They will continue to be on the receiving end of our military blows until we have dismantled their military machine and dissolved their political structure in Gaza. When this is over, Gaza will be very different," he said. Meanwhile, Hamas says it is "ready" for an Israeli invasion of Gaza over the October 7 attacks, a top official of the Palestinian Islamist group said late Friday after Israel announced it would extend its ground operation. "If (Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu decides to enter Gaza tonight, the resistance is ready," said Ezzat al-Rishaq, a senior member of the Hamas political bureau, on social media platform Telegram. "The remains of his soldiers will be swallowed up by the land of Gaza."
