➡️ Electric Wizard’s “Funeralopolis” is one of those tracks that doesn’t unfold so much as it pulls you under, locking into a slow, crushing riff and asking you to sit with it. I dig into how the band stretches a single riff into something hypnotic, how subtle note changes suddenly feel massive at this tempo, and how the production blurs everything together to create that claustrophobic, almost physical listening experience. It’s a completely different approach to songwriting, less about progression and more about immersion, and once the second riff finally lands, it hits harder because of everything that came before it.
