Comedian Kunal Kamra is in trouble for calling Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde a "traitor" during a stand-up show. The Mumbai police have summoned him for questioning, and he has been asked to appear at Khar police station by Tuesday at 11 am.

Shinde responded by saying that while freedom of speech is important, there should be limits. He also defended the vandalism at the studio where Kamra performed, saying, "Action causes reaction."

Kamra, however, refused to apologize. He criticized officials for demolishing parts of the studio and said he won’t be intimidated. He argued that making fun of politicians is not illegal.

The controversy started when Kamra performed a parody song to the tune of Dil To Pagal Hai, referencing Shinde's 2022 defection from Shiv Sena. His use of the word "traitor" angered Shiv Sena leaders, with MP Naresh Mhaske warning Kamra that he might have to leave India.
