Email marketing is only as profitable as the contact list you have. One of the top questions we get is, "How do I grow my email marketing list?" Think about it: you can design the most beautiful, custom-branded, professional-looking email campaign, but if no one sees it, what's the point?

Of course, there are plenty of ways to grow your list, but we came up with the top 3 quickest, easiest list growth strategies for your email marketing account.

1) Make a list of friends, family, and current customers

00:35 Number one, really, really simple. You have friends, you have family, you have current customers, possibly ask them for their email address or you know, take the email addresses that you have for friends and family and, and current customers and utilize them as your base list. Really, really simple. Usually gets you maybe like 100, 200 different contacts in there. And I'm not saying go and use every single contact you have in your email address book. Don't want to do that because you know, probably a lot of other things in there from, you know, uh, other businesses you're working with, whatever you don't want to do that you only want to use your actual friends and family and obviously customers.

2) Use a physical sign up form

01:17 Number two, and this is actually a really big one and a super easy one, I'm going to show you how to set something up here on Constant Contact, but the second one is if you have a retail shop or a physical location like a restaurant or something like that. The best way to get new email addresses is to have a sign up form in your actual location. So you can do this a number of different ways.

3) Take advantage of Online Subscription Forms

04:36 Number three, and probably the fastest way to grow your list: with your website. And that is using, when I go to the sign signup forms, Constant Contact has it built in now. They added it relatively recently, and here it is. So once you get to this page, all you have to do is choose what I think is the best one here, which is the popup form. You click on that and you're going to go through the process and you can update the title. You can update some of the colors, you can update where the list is actually going to go. You can update all of these different things. And then once you do that, people are going to come to your website. This is going to pop up and say, "Hey, maybe you can download..."
