Farming of Yesteryear in Keister, Minnesota

Farming of yesteryear is an annual event in Keister, Minnesota. Joe attends and films antique tractors, blacksmiths at work, a wheelwright, draft horse teams at work and more.

First he visits with Roger Denger, a blacksmith, while he hand forges a rosebud with a copper finish.
Next he talks with Roger Prantor, a wheelwright as he is making a wooden wheel. Roger explains how it is done and the importance of measuring correctly.

Next David Grant shows us a unique John Deere oil field engine manufactured to pump oil for Pure Oil. It was rebuilt by Lee Loing in Michigan.

Doug and Josh Grunzke's Belgian team plows a field as they explain some ins and outs of draft horse farming.

Next, it's the antique tractor parade with John Deere, FarmAll and a unique German tractor.

We watch as a team of draft horses skids a log to the sawmill. And then the vintage sawmill cuts it into boards.

Lastly, we return to the forge where a couple of blacksmiths make a hammer head.
