Watch: Video of prison guards roughly handling sick inmate plays key part in $1.5 million settlement
The state of Georgia recently paid the parents of Mollianne Fischer $1.5 million to settle a lawsuit alleging that inadequate medical care in the prison system left Mollianne in a persistent vegetative state. The following video, obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, was a key piece of evidence in the lawsuit. It shows officers at Lee Arrendale State Prison using physical force to move an unresponsive Fischer to a cell in the prison’s isolation unit on May 25, 2014. (Video edited by Ryon Horne)
