Pastures of Plenty Woody Guthrie - Jack Warshaw with 5 string banjo
One of Woody Guthrie's greatest songs, about migrant workers. The tune is a reworking of the ballad "Pretty Polly." It is said too that Ennio Morricone, my favourite film composer, used the tune as the basis for "Fistful of Dollars." Proves once again that you can't keep a good folk tune down.
