Just like Mr. Yin said China was an agricultural society, and those artworks were just their handwork when they were not busy with farming work. With the time goes by and the development of China, more and more Chinese are free from the work in farming. But the artworks they made have been a part of the culture, and till today they have been the intangible culture heritage in the world.

Mr. Yin started learning how to carve from his grandfather since he was in high school. Pits carving was a hobby for him at first, but gradually he found he had more and more interest in it, and today he is a professional pits carver.
