FPV Long Range Mountain Adventure with DJI system and Chimera 7 - Lost video at 2km AGL altitude!

- Right side: 2x prodrone.pl helical 12 turn 14 db ( https://shop.prodrone.pl/pl/p/PRO-Helical-antenna-12-turn-5.8-GHz-14dbi-v2/332 )
This configuration is a diversity setup, the x-air has a very good beam range even on the edges, while the helical is a sort of "bonus" if you manage to point it right, giving you the extra "punch" in signal strength

Props: Gemfan flash 7040x3 ( https://it.banggood.com/2-Pairs-Gemfan-Flash-7040-7x4-7-Inch-Long-Range-3-Blade-Propeller-Support-POPO-for-RC-Drone-FPV-Racing-p-1520190.html ). I did some tests with the 7042 2 bladed props, they are a little more efficient, but are harder to balance and I haven't been able to avoid vibrations and jello with them, whereas the 7040x3 are very stable with no balancing.

Battery: 2x (in parallel, 8.000 mah total) 6s Li-On 4.000Mah, 21700 40A Samsung cells (https://www.farinsframes.com/6s-4000mah-40a-21-6v-li-ion-battery-pack/ ). Each battery weighs 440 grams.
BN-220 GPS ( https://it.banggood.com/Beitian-Dual-BN-220-GPS-GLONASS-Antenna-Module-TTL-Level-RC-Drone-Airplane-p-1208588.html ). Turn ON in Betaflight Galileo setting if you're in Europe, it really helps get more satellites.
JHE42B_S active buzzer ( https://www.banggood.com/JHE42B_S-Finder-5V-Super-Loud-Buzzer-Tracker-110dB-Built-in-Battery-for-Flight-Controller-RC-Drone-p-1368186.html). It's a must per long range drones, to increase your chance of finding it in case of model lost / crash.

Radio antenna: TBS shapeshifter ( https://www.team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:vas_shapeshifter_900 ) , set in vertical position and in directional mode.
Receiver: TBS crossfire diversity nano rx ( https://www.team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:xf_nano_div_rx ) set at 8CH
Link antennas: 2x Truerc bardpole planar bazooka dipole antennas ( https://www.truerc.ca/shop/linear-antennas/900mhz-2/truerc-bardpole-868-mhz ) set at 20 degrees on the vertical plane, since most of the time i fly close to this pitch angle. One antenna in the front and the other in the back.
Video antennas: 2x tbs triumph pro (long range) ( https://www.team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:triumph_pro_sma_lr ). I have also tested the truerc singularity and they perform very similarly to the triumphs, get either one of them and you'll be fine.
Dji unit settings: 1200mw, 50 Mbit per second, High Quality, 4/3 screen, autofocus off, power mode on. I put an extra 30x30x10 5v high rpm fan above the air unit to help cool it down, i feel it's a need at this power output.
Betaflight main settings: 4.2.8 firmware
PIDS: multiplier 1.1
Filters settings sliders: 1.8 / 1.8, RPM filters ON.
ESC settings : 48 PWM, timings 11 (my tests with a power meter show that these settings result in 7% less power consumption compared to the standard 24 PWM / 16 degrees timings)
