F15E Strike Eagle special scheme flypast - IWM Duxford 'The American's' Flying Day 2022

A specially decorated Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle, serial number 92-0364, assigned to the 492nd Fighter Squadron (nicknamed 'Bolars' and 'Mad Hatters'), of the 48th Fighter Wing (known as the 'Liberty Wing") based at the United States Air Force (USAF) base at Royal Air Force (RAF) Lakenheath, England, completes a flypast at The Imperial War Museum (IWM), Duxford, England to open the IWM Flying Day 'The Americans' on 23rd July 2022.
The special heritage paint scheme given to the aircraft took 19 Airmen 14 working days to complete. It commemorates United States Air Force Europe (USAFE) 80th anniversary, the United States Air Force (USAF) 75th anniversary and the 48th Fighter Wing (Liberty Wing) 70th anniversary.
The 80 painted on the tail represents 80 years of U.S. Air Forces in Europe (USAFE), the 75 painted on the tail represents the 75 years of the U.S. Air Force, the Statue of Liberty stands for the 70 years of RAF Lakenheath.
The 'stars and stripes' scheme is based on the Skyblazers aerial demonstration team from the 1950’s and 60’s, also honouring another piece of USAFE’s 80-year history.
The new scheme was unveiled on 12th July, 2022.
